An innovative activated carbon cartridge using the wet spinning process with exceptional properties.

Thanks to a new type of membrane-like adsorption material made of woven activated carbon combined with a sputtering process, the Zenton S4 is currently the most innovative activated carbon cartridge for drinking water filtration. Manufactured in Switzerland using a patented wet spinning process, the Zenton S4 combines the classic properties of a premium activated carbon filter with an increased retention rate for heavy metals and protection against bacteria and viruses. The result is water of excellent quality and natural taste.

Using a wet spinning process, activated carbon is woven into an activated carbon block filter for the first time and not pressed or sintered, as is usually the case. The result is a light, membrane-like adsorption material with a highly porous surface with 70% micropores in the range of 2 nanometers. This enables an adsorption capacity that is up to ten times higher than that of conventional activated carbon block filters. Another innovation is the patented pre- and post-filtration fleece that surrounds the activated carbon core. It uses the sputtering process to ensure germ-free use even over longer service lives and in the event of microbiological contamination.
At the same time, it improves the filter performance, especially for heavy metals. This unique combination efficiently filters chemical and organic contaminants such as medicines, pesticides, chlorine, unpleasant odors and flavors, microplastics and sediments. The Zenton S4 offers a retention rate of up to 99.99% for heavy metals, especially lead, mercury and cadmium - a performance that conventional activated carbon block filters cannot achieve. The Zenton S4 combines the advantages of a classic premium activated carbon filter with improved heavy metal filtration and protection against bacteria and viruses - all in one filter cartridge.
The performance of the Zenton S4 filter cartridge has been tested by the renowned SGS Institut Fresenius in Switzerland. State-of-the-art testing methods such as mass spectrometry and flow cytometry enable precise identification and quantification of contaminants and provide an accurate assessment of its ability to remove pollutants from water. With a constant flow rate of 4 liters per minute, it is the ideal choice for any application that requires the highest water quality - whether in private households, in the catering industry, in conjunction with water dispensers or in food production.

"Spun, sputtered - activated carbon rethought. A carbon innovation for water. So pure and natural, nature in every sip."

FAQ

  • Does a LEOGANT system also filter hormones, drugs and microplastics?
Yes, our repeatedly tested activated carbon cartridges reliably remove harmful substances such as hormones, medicines, pesticides, mercury, cadmium, heavy metals, lead, chlorine, microplastics, fungi and microorganisms, odors and discoloration, organic substances as well as rust and particles. • Is PFAS removed from the water by a LEOGANT filter?
The test results of the LEOGANT Zenton S4 filter, which is manufactured by Evodrop AG in Switzerland, demonstrate impressive efficiency in the filtration of short-chain PFAS - with reductions of up to 100 % in several categories. Conventional activated carbon filters or carafe filters are usually unable to effectively remove PFAS or similar pollutants such as nanoplastics. However, the Zenton S4 was developed specifically for these challenges and offers an optimal solution for anyone who values safe, pure water. • What is special about the Zenton filter cartridge?
They are a new development in the field of drinking water filtration made of woven activated carbon. Thanks to a patented production process, they offer above-average protection against pollutants in the water compared to conventional activated carbon block filters and are not only bacteria-proof but also virus-proof. In terms of filter performance, it stands out from the GFP cartridge particularly in the area of heavy metals. It can filter up to 99% of lead, cadmium and mercury. It works without the addition of chemicals or silver. The high filter performance and safety were tested by various institutes in Switzerland in 2022 using the latest measuring methods.
  • Have the filter cartridges been tested by an independent laboratory?
Yes, the filter cartridges have been tested by various independent laboratories. You can find the tests in the expert reports on our website.
  • Where are the filter cartridges manufactured?
The cartridge is manufactured in Switzerland by Evodrop AG exclusively for LEOGANT.
  • Can filtered pollutants be released again?
No, so-called bleeding is conditionally not possible. Pollutants once retained in the cartridge are safely anchored in the structure of the cartridge and are not released back into the water even in the event of overloading.
  • Does the cartridge filter lime?
No. Minerals and trace elements are not filtered. This includes lime. It is involved in the taste of the water and stabilises the pH value. Water filters that remove lime either change the pH value, enrich the water with sodium or remove all minerals from the water. A LEOGANT filter system is designed to restore the natural balance of the water. Therefore, we do not remove limescale and concentrate on the combination of activated carbon filter and water vitalisation. This way, the water becomes comparably soft, as if it had been reduced by limescale, but remains fresh and pleasant in taste and does not need to be artificially manipulated.
  • How can I dispose of the filter cartridge?
Although our filter cartridges are predominantly made of activated carbon, they also contain some plastic due to their application. After 6 months of use, there are also varying concentrations of pollutants in the cartridge. Drinking water filter cartridges should therefore only be disposed of with household waste. In Germany, most household waste is incinerated and residual materials are disposed of properly.

Note on filter change according to DIN EN 806

We would like to point out that a filter change every six months is a prerequisite for the functionality and hygiene of the system. If the filter change is not carried out or is not carried out professionally, LEOGANT cannot guarantee the functionality of the water treatment system. The operator himself is liable for any contamination according to DIN EN 806/ DIN EN 1717.
